We are a ministry founded on the Word of God, biblical principles and prayer. Our utmost goal and desire is to win souls for the Kingdom of God. We want to be a Church with a spirit of excellence, integrity and compassion for our community; serving them with the utmost level of dignity and respect. We want to be a place of worship where the love of God is demonstrated to the lost, broken, hurting, sick, confused, depressed, oppressed and suppressed that there is hope in Christ Jesus and that the love of God surpasses all of our problems. We want to teach, train, equip and develop the saints in the word of God, enabling them to engage in spiritual warfare conquering and defeating the enemy. We want to inspire the saints to seek and serve God through living holy lives. We desire to be dedicated to academic and spiritual excellence and mentoring and supporting spiritual leaders.
OUR PASTOR
G |
odfrey L. Deaver was saved in May of 1975 and was called to the ministry February 1978 in England while he was in the Air Force. God blessed him to be assigned at Pope AFB, where he was led of God to visit and later joined Lou Chapel Holiness Church in June 1978, where he learned how to live holy - under the leadership of Pastor Berline Kelly; he says “THANK GOD FOR PASTOR KELLY.” He faithfully served for approximately seventeen years as the Lord blessed him in various capacities of: Minister, Sunday School Teacher, member of the Pastor’s Aid Club, Witnessing Team, Radio Choir, Male Chorus, and was also the church organist.
In mid 1995, the Lord began to enlarge Brother and Sister Deaver’s borders as He spoke to Pastor Kelly and said that it was time for Brother and Sister Deaver to go and help the Late Pastor Annie Wiggins with Mission Prayer Temple Church. Being humble and obedient, Brother Deaver and his family went to Mission Prayer Temple in May of 1995, where he continued to faithfully serve the Lord wherever he was needed.
In God’s own time He saw fit to promote Brother Deaver, who was installed as Co-Pastor of Mission Prayer Temple Church on August 10, 1997. The late Pastor Wiggins was led and directed by God to make arrangements to appoint Co-Pastor Deaver as Pastor and Sister Deaver as Co-Pastor should anything happen to her.
Approximately a year and a half after being installed as Co-Pastor, God being pleased with the finished work of His faithful servant, the late Pastor Wiggins, came and took her home in January 1999. And as the word says, God sent them out two-by-two, on February 14, 1999; Brother Deaver and Sister Deaver were installed as Pastor and Co-Pastor of Mission Prayer Temple Church. Two called by God, two anointed of God, reached out preaching and teaching the word of God. Many changes occurred and membership increased and many souls have been saved, set free, and delivered under Pastor and Co-Pastor’s leadership.
Several months prior to the home going of Pastor Wiggins, an addition (Pastor study, choir room, conference room, and baptism pool) to the church was completed resulting with a mortgage of $93,000.00; of which Pastor Deaver (then
Co-Pastor) said he was believing God to bless the church to payoff in 3 1/2 years. Praises be to God, under his leadership, being Holy Ghost led and the faithfulness of the members, God blessed and the mortgage was paid off in three years and two months and the mortgage was burned in September 2001“GOD DID IT.” In September 2003, the Lord blessed and a fellowship hall was added with a mortgage of $108,000.00 - and "GOD DID IT AGAIN," it was also paid off early - 3 1/2 years.
Pastor Deaver finds great pleasure and joy in serving God and His people, the beautiful congregation at Mission Prayer Temple Church as- well-as those outside the church. He believes “Every encounter is an opportunity to show God’s love”.

IN LOVING MEMORY
A Visionary/A Woman With A Vision
It began with a vision, "Where there is no vision, the people perish" Prov. 29:18 "Through the vision God gave Pastor Wiggins, many souls have come to Christ, many have returned to Christ, many have developed and matured in Christ, many will be ready for the coming of Christ, and many look forward to going back with Christ."
On May 21, 1986 she began services in her home. Approximately 7 years later she and members marched into Mission Prayer Temple Church (Phase one) on January 31, 1993. Steadfast in faith and prayer, believing through much sickness, God blessed and phase two of the vision was dedicated on April 26, 1998. January 19, 1999, the final phase - a painting of the descension of Christ was completed and carried to her hospital room. While lying in her bed, God allowed her to see the final part of the vision unfold. January 23, 1999, the painting was hung above the Baptismal pool as it was in her vision. Though never returning to the Church in the flesh to see the painting; we believe that on January 25, 1999, as Pastor Wiggins took flight to her Heavenly Home, she and her Heavenly Father stopped by Mission Prayer Temple Church to see the completed vision. And He said, "Well done thy good and faithful servant, thou has been faithful over a few things, be thou ruler over many, enter thou into the joy of the Lord and receive thou eternal rewards."
Pastor Wiggins, though your vision was completed, your work in the vision continues through the fruit of you labor. We Love and Miss You Dearly.
Forever Yours,
The Mission Prayer Temple Church Family
